Student visa
Entry visas for stud purposes (type D STUDIO “Immatricolazione Università”) are issued if applicants meet all the requirements and conditions of the current regulations by the dates set by the relevant MUR timetables (Ministry of Universities and Research) in order to give students time to arrive and take the required language tests and tests for degree courses.
In general, those are the documents necessary for the visa request:
a) Entry visa application form
b) Passport-size photo
c) Valid travel document
d) Availability of suitable accommodation in Italy
e) Proof of availability of financial means in Italy, in 2022 amounting to a minimum of €7.000 per year. Please note: Applying for a scholarship is not a document of financial coverage.
f) Enrolment or pre-enrolment for the academic course
For more specific documentation, please refer to the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your country.

Please note: An admission letter from the university does not ensure that students will obtain a visa.
The expiry dates for pre-enrolment procedures in first and second level courses at Italian universities and AFAM institutions are defined in the timetable that is published annually by the Ministry of Universities and Research, as well as all the information given above, at this link: www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/
